I actually pondered whether to discuss "transient" homosexuality, and decided against it because it's just too uncommon to be relevant here.

Temporary homosexuality almost always involves lesbian behavior. Guys tend not to experiment with homosexuality the way some young women do -- they either are or aren't gay, and they're more likely to conceal the fact if they are.

That's important, because the types of people who would hurt someone for no reason, except for the fact that he happens to be gay, seem only to resent male homosexuality. Lesbians aren't a "threat" to them, for whatever reason.

So temporary/politically/fashionably gay victims are going to be so rare as to not be worth carving out an exception to the larger principal. And even in the rare exceptional case, who really wants a jury to have to decide whether someone was truly gay or just going through a phase?

I believe that I am in agreement with you, but I do have a question or two. I can see why national origin is included, but agree with you that the foundation used to cover pretty much all else makes it illogical to include religion. My question would be, that with the perception that an increasing amount of homosexual activity appears to be an act of choice (nurture) vice real desire (nature) how do we reconcile this. As this "false" homosexuality is most likely perpetrated to elicit a reaction from society as a whole do they have a legal claim if the reaction is negative?
