Celebration Studios victims

A civil lawsuit was filed against Celebration Studios on December 12, 2007, for its failure to provide wedding photos, albums and videos for weddings going back several years.  The case seeks return of all photos, albums and videos to the couples who paid for them, plus monetary damages for breach of contract and emotional distress, and punitive damages.

A motion is now before the court, seeking certification as a class action.  On the scheduled date, April 23, 2008, Celebration Studios did not appear. The motion was marked unopposed, and we are waiting for the judge to render his decision.

When the decision is rendered, notice will be posted here.

If the case is certified to proceed as a class action, as is expected, then formal notice will be made to all class members in a manner prescribed by the court. We anticipate that all victimized couples would be included in the class automatically.

This action is independent from the actions of the New Jersey Attorney General, although we have offered any assistance which that agency or other agencies might request.

Previously, the court issued a preliminary injunction, essentially ordering Celebration Studios not to destroy or lose any photos, videos or albums until they can be returned.
